Chloe Mary's hair shines red and gold
and when she smiles your heart could melt away
Though she's rather cheeky if truth be told
That's half her charm I have to say
When she giggles her little nose wrinkles  too
and her eyes go so shiny and bright
 with her around you can never be  blue
my grandaughter is such a delight.

(now I suppose I'd better write one for the other 3 )

Soft as a summer breeze
                                                                  blowing through the leafy trees
                                                                  fluttering in rays of gold
                                                                  such a pretty sight behold
                                                                  butterflies with wings of blue
                                                                  on the roses bought by you
                                                                  memories of lovely days
                                                                  spent beneath the summer haze.
                                                                  wish we could go back to then
                                                                  start our love all over again
                                                                  this time I would be true
                                                                  would not risk that I'd lose you
                                                                  but too late the winter rain
                                                                  took your love away again
                                                                  

After the ask or answer on assisted suicide and reading the comments from everyone just felt I had to pen these few words.

I treasure every moment of the life I live
I think my life is special and have no wish to leave
But if ever I got very sick so ill there was no cure
And if my life was full of pain I could no more endure
Then it is MY right to say that I will take no more
It's my decision when to go not yours and thats for sure
It's me that has to strike a bargain with MY God
It's not for you to tell me I'll be damned for good
My pain and suffering is only to do with me
If I can't bear it any longer I have the right to be free
I have the right to say whether I live or die
So don't you try to lecture me or morally imply
That I have no right to control my destiny
'Cos my life is mine and belongs to only me.

I was fifteen he was twenty one   
We went out we had fun
But it was not to be
We lived so far apart you see
Our lives were entangled from the start
I didn't want to have to part
But our families would never agree
That he could be the one for me
Our lives went on as they do
But still in my heart I'd be true
Though I married and so did he
I always wondered what would be
We didn't meet for thirty four years
But quite by chance he appears
His hand held mine the room swam
I was back where it first began
It was just as if we'd never parted
Time to finish what once had started
We are older and this time I swear
We will not let others interfere
This time I will not let him go
Because I really love him so

It won't be long he told me more than once or twice.
I promise I'll be with you we'll have a happy life.
I've waited and I've waited until I got depressed.  
I never ever doubted (though others did oh! yes). 
I told myself it would happen year after bloody year.
This time he will be with you never ever fear.
But Christmas came and Christmas went one year turned to seven.
Surely this time it will be and then I'll be in heaven.
'Cos no matter how much I love him or how long I have been true
This year it will be different and that I promise you.
This year I will be stronger and if he can't be strong,
Then I will make a decision I will move along.
And if he's taking notice as I think he might
I hope he knows I mean it I will no longer wait.
 

Don't know why I've got angels on my mind today? So I wrote this.

    
I lie in bed, and close my eyes and nearly drift away.    
I try to clear my mind of the things that happened in the day.    
I open up my heart, and mind, and let the love flow out.    
I pray that someone hears and is coming round about.   
I hear a gentle whisper as soft as any breeze.    
It's like a gentle rustling of wind blowing through the trees.    
In my minds eye I see a glow and feel a warmth inside.    
Theres nothing to be afraid of no reason I should hide.    
It's just my Guardian Angel who I know is always there.   
And I thank her for  protection and offer up a prayer.  

I wrote and blogged this awhile back but I have to confess to doing it all over again

It crept upon me rather slow
No matter what it would not go
I wanted them so much you see
I had to have them for my tea
I tried to push them from my mind
Healthier things I should find
They really wouldn't do me good
They'd be far worse than any pud
But no I just could not stop
I had to pop down to the shop
The smell was pervading the air
By now I really could'nt care
Fish ,chips and mushy peas you see
With salt and vinegar on for tea.

Today I'm really happy, honestly I am
I've filled the sink right to the top and now I'm in a jam.
 The floor is covered in water, the dogs are paddling too
I'm really in a pickle and don't know what to do
Grab towels from the bathroom to mop up every drop
 Throw the carpet out the back - another from the shop!
The drawer is awash with water and it is flowing out
 Everything is ruined I'm sure without a doubt
Towels are saturated,into the wash they go
 Mop and bucket ready time to start the show
Throw away things not needed, dry out those that are
 My floor is looking cleaner,cupboards tidier by far
So you see when you keep smiling and count your blessings too
 Even the biggest disaster can turn out right for you.

I really did'nt want them the day they came to stay
I liked my house just as it was and they'd be in the way
But mums are there for helping out and so I thought I must
And they moved in the house filled up no space even for dust
The time soon passed we settled down to a day to day routine
They'd go to work then I'd get up and cook and wash and clean
I'd have a meal all ready when they came home at night
I'd often do their washing not a pretty sight.
But yesterday the time had come at last they flew away
Off on travels far and wide foreign lands is where they'll stay

And now my house once more returns to peace and sanity
No more the strumming of guitar and singing after tea.
No more hot water running out so I don't get my shower
No more telly switching over just at my tv hour
And yet daft as it sounds the place is not the same
I very quickly got used to them not long after they came
I hope they have a lovely trip and see all sorts of things
If only I were young eneough I'd join them spreading wings '
Cos though I dreaded having them when they first came to stay
I sure as hell will miss them now they've gone away.

Lastnight this happend and right now I could go to sleeeeeeeeeeeep     

Why is it when I'm watching a programme on tv

I very often fall asleep and miss the end you see

Then I get into my bed and close my eyes up tight

And find I am not tired at all and have a sleepless night

I try to lay there counting sheep til numbers fill my head

I toss and turn and pump the pillows in my lumpy bed

I put the light on and I read and then I read some more

I get up 'cos I'm getting stiff and pace the bedroom floor

Back to bed and try to think of nice places in the sun

Or remember past events and having lots of fun

At last I'm feeling sleepy and laydown my weary head

My eyelids start to flicker and I'm thinking nice long zeds

And then it happens , yes you know that thing begins to beep

The alarm is sounding in my ear just as I get to sleep
