It's now 10 o'clock, the house is at peace.
Grandchildren in bed, the laughter has ceased.
I'm winding right down, I've had a hard day.
Done washing and mowing and put things away.
The dogs at my feet are dreaming of hares.
They slumber away without any cares.
My slippers are off, my legs are curled up.
I've got on my comfy's (old joggers and top).
A glass in my hand, with wine to the brim.
The bottle now empty consigned to the bin.
It was only half full don't think I'm that greedy.
To drink a whole bottle would make me feel seedy.
But a glass or two will do me just right.
And be a nice end to a very nice night.
